July 4th

July is full of wonderful celebrations for our family. Daniel and I started dating in July, his birthday is in July, we got engaged in July (on the 4th actually...very romantic), we got married in July, we moved into our first home in July...
We love July 4th. It holds fond memories for us especially through our dating and engagement years. We spent the first five 4th of Julys together at "our" summer camp in Kerrville either working out there or invited back by some dear friends that lived there and invited us to their home to celebrate every summer. Last year was a little different. Kerrville wasn't an option for us so we opted for Sea World instead. It was fun, but not the same. This year Kerrville wasn't an option either as we were still with my family. So, we tried something new. Again. And it ended up being a nice holiday.

Daniel and I woke up early and took Joey to the local parade. I was a little nervous because of his "scared of loud noises" thing but he did great! The firetrucks and police cars didn't bother him a bit! He enjoyed waving at all of the people walking by and LOVED the old Air Force planes that kept flying over! (He has SUCH a thing for planes...) The parade was perfect. Not too long, not too short. All three of us really had a great time. We spent the afternoon relaxing after a long and stressful week and then headed out to see fireworks. We picked the best spot! It was far enough away that the boom of the fireworks wasn't loud AND we ended up being able to see firework shows from FOUR different cities from where we sat! We watched fireworks for almost an hour and a half! All in all, it was a great day!

Daddy liked the old Chevy's
Grandpa helped get this old firetruck restored!
Every parade needs Santa right!?!

Pregnancy Update

So I know I'm way behind on my posts and updates. I seriously don't know what happened to the month of June. Well, maybe I do, but nevertheless it slipped by with minimal posting involved.

I am now 19 1/2 weeks or just over 5 months pregnant. I still see my regular OB but am now seeing a high-risk pregnancy specialist as well due to high blood pressure readings in June (gee, I wonder why). I had my July appointments with both of them this week. I saw the specialist first. After the mile-long list of medical history questions they asked I went into the sonogram room and got another look at our sweet little peanut. I'd post pictures but she/he was being stubborn and moving a lot so the few that we were able to bring home aren't very good and you can't even tell that you're looking at her/his face so I'll spare you. The sono. tech measured every little tiny thing in that little tiny body. It was seriously a crazy-long sonogram. Everything measured perfectly! The baby weighs a whopping 13oz. and is measuring a week ahead of schedule. Pretty par for the course when you compare it to my pregnancy with Joey. My blood pressure readings were great but the specialist wants to continue to follow me just to keep another set of eyes on everything and make sure everyone's growing at the same rate. She did have me run some lab work to get base-line readings on a whole laundry list of things just in case problems crop up and we need that data later. I will continue to see her monthly which is OK with me because it means I will continue to have sonograms monthly!
(And no, we did not find out if the baby is a boy or girl. It took a lot of strength since they asked me about four different times if I wanted to know. I'm not sure if I can keep that up every month!)

Compared to that appointment my regular OB appointment was short! My BP was up a little but since my numbers had been good earlier in the week she was not concerned. She did her regular check-up and then we scheduled my c-section for November 20th. And that's about it!

Thank you for your continued prayers. My biggest requests are that my blood pressure readings stay down (or go down even a little more) and that baby stays happily put until the 20th! Stay tuned...belly pictures coming as soon as I can remember to get someone to take one! :o)

Have a great day!

Wordless Wednesday (with words...and on Thursday!)

So it was made known to me while I was home last week that there are more than just four or five people that read my blog! YAY! I had no idea that there are people out there who stop that I didn't know about. (Hi Chris! Hi Meg! Hi anyone else I don't know about!) Shame on you for not leaving comments! ha ha ha. just kidding...kinda! ;)

It was also made known to me that Wordless Wednesdays are a favorite. So without further adieu I will do my best to bring them back...

Oh and how can I forget?!!? We have scheduled the c-section for Baby and she/he will make her/his debut on November 20th!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big Boy Bed

It is night #4 of the adventure of transitioning from crib to bed. Just to give you an idea of how it's going...
